How to Get to Venice

Venice is a coastal city in the northeast of Italy, and is easily reached via airplane and train.

Venice Marco Polo Airport is the main airport in Venice and is only a 20 minute train ride to the main island of Venice!

Venice Mestre Train Station is the main train hub across from the island of Venice.

However if you are trying to get to the famous island part of Venice, make sure you get train tickets to Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia – the train station on the main island of Venice.

What to Do in Venice

Venice is one of the most romantic & beautiful cities in the world!

The best thing to do in Venice is to wander along the canals and take in the views, the architecture, the little shops, & cafes.

Take a tour of Venice and see all the favorite spots! Stroll across the Rialto Bridge, visit St. Mark’s Square, and take a gondola for a romantic cruise along the Grand Canal. This is the perfect way to see the city! Reserve your spot here.

San Marco’s Square is the most visited place in Venice, and is the perfect place to admire the architecture or enjoy live music in the evening at one of the cafes.

While in St. Mark’s Square, visit St. Mark’s Basilica and explore the Doge’s Palace! The entrance lines at Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica can be extremely long, so skip the lines & get your tickets here.

The Rialto Bridge is a famous bridge stretching over the Grand Canal. From the top of the bridge, you can see gorgeous views over Venice!

Get a gelato and enjoy pizza or pasta at one of Venice’s beautiful restaurants!

Take a food tour of Venice! Sample an array of local specialties including fresh seafood, homemade gelato, traditional Venetian cookies, and regional wines. Reserve your spot on this highly popular food tour here!

Or do a small group Cicchetti & Wine Tour! Taste your way through the backstreet bars of Venice on this delicious food and wine tour. Follow your local guide to different ‘enotecas’ (wine bars) to discover where local Venetians go to drink and mingle. At each stop, sample regional wines and Prosecco served alongside plates of the popular Venetian appetizers called ‘cicchetti.’ This is an extremely popular food tour! Book your tickets here.

Visit Vivaldi’s Church! This church is famous for its history of Vivaldi working & living here. You can also attend an amazing Vivaldi concert and listen to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in the church where he originally performed it! Reserve your tickets before they sell out.

Go up to the top of Campanile di San Giorgio Maggiore, and take in the amazing views over Venice!

Visit the brightly colored islands of Murano and Burano known for their glass making and Italian lace. This is an amazing tour at such a good price! Book your spot here.

See the best of Venice! Explore Venice with a walking tour that includes St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doges Palace, and the Grand Canal. The tour finishes with a beautiful gondola ride where you can see Venice from the water! Get your tickets here.

Take a day trip to see the Dolomites! These stunning mountain views are some that you will never forget! Book your tour here.
