How to Get to Málaga

Málaga is a beautiful port city on the southern coast of Spain, and is extremely accessible with flights and cruises coming in every day.

The main airport is Aeropuerto de Málaga – Costa del Sol (AGP), and is a 15 minute drive from downtown.

The main train station is Málaga María Zambrano Train Station.

What to Do in Málaga

Málaga is a beautiful seaside city known for its warm & sunny weather year around!

Calle Marqués de Larios is the main pedestrian street, and is a great place to start your exploration of the city. Then branch out from there and explore the historic city center, enjoy the shopping streets, and all the cafes & restaurants.

Stop by Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga – the main cathedral of Málaga which stands in the heart of the city.

Right between the main town and the waterfront are the scenic gardens of Parque de Málaga.

Málaga has the most beautiful waterfront area! The Dock Promenade stretches along the waterfront all the way down to the cruise port. It has shops, cafes, restaurants, and a large beautiful walking area.

At the very end of the Dock Promenade and next to the cruise port is the beautiful beach, Playa la Malagueta, where you can go swimming, walking, or just relax in the sand.

Visit the Alcazaba – a hilltop medieval fortress overlooking the sea with beautiful fountain-filled gardens.

Take a day trip to Ronda and Setenil de Las Bodegas! This place is absolutely amazing!! I highly recommend this tour. You can get tickets here.

Nearby, you can also explore Castillo de Gibralfaro – a 1300s Moorish Castle set up on the mountain.

The weather here varies depending on what time of year it is and the current weather patterns.

The hot season lasts from June to September, with an average daily temperature above 82°F. The hottest month of the year in Málaga is August, with an average high of 87°F and low of 70°F.

The cool season lasts from November to March, with an average daily temperature below 67°F. The coldest month of the year in Málaga is January, with an average low of 46°F and high of 61°F.
