How to Get to Gouda

Gouda is very easily reached via Amsterdam! I’d recommend flying into Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and then it is only a 55 minute train ride from there to Gouda.

The main train station is Gouda Station which takes you right near the center of town.

What to Do in Gouda

Gouda is known for its world-famous Gouda Cheese, and is a fun & unique city to visit!

My favorite thing to do in Gouda is the Gouda Cheese Experience! Not only do you get to learn how they make Gouda cheese, but you also get to eat it, try on costumes, and participate in a multimedia experience. It is perfect for kids or adults! Get your tickets here!

At the center of town is Markt Square which boasts the iconic old City Hall – Stadhuis van Gouda and public toilets for your convenience.

If you are there on Thursdays, make sure to visit the Thursday market of De Benenwagen also located in Markt Square! From April – August, there is a special cheese market on Thursdays with folklore performances, massive cheese wheels, and traditional Dutch attire!

Nearby, visit Sint-Janskerk – Famous for its 72 stained glass windows, this Gothic icon is the longest church in the Netherlands! Get your tickets here.
