Gouda is very easily reached via Amsterdam! I’d recommend flying into Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and then it is only a 55 minute train ride from there to Gouda.
The main train station is Gouda Station which takes you right near the center of town.

If you are there on Thursdays, make sure to visit the Thursday market of De Benenwagen also located in Markt Square! From April – August, there is a special cheese market on Thursdays with folklore performances, massive cheese wheels, and traditional Dutch attire!
