How to Get to Füssen

Füssen is a small town in Bavaria right near the German-Austrian border.

There are several ways to get to Füssen. You can either fly into Memmingen Airport, Innsbruck Airport, or Munich International Airport. The fastest route depends on if you are going by car or taking the train.

The main train station is Füssen Main Station, which leaves you off right in the middle of the city.

What to Do in Füssen

Füssen is an idyllic Bavarian town in Germany just north of the Austrian border. It is known for its charming town & the breathtaking castles nearby.

Explore Füssen’s beautiful & charming Old Town/Altstadt. Wander through the cobblestone streets and pastel buildings and enjoy exploring Reichenstrasse – the main pedestrian street full of shops & cafes!

The town’s Gothic castle, Hohes Schloss, houses a regional art museum and is surrounded by breathtaking views! 

Visit the Museum of Fuessen/ Benedictine Monastery of St. Mang and enjoy its collection of art, artifacts, lutes & violins in a former Benedictine abbey.

Take a walk along the river, through the mountains, and by the Lechall waterfall. Enjoy the Bauumkronenweg Ziegelwies – tree top walks & adventure trails that overlook the mountains & alpine river.

Enjoy one of Füssen’s scenic lakes, and spend the day at Alatsee or Hopfensee

Hohenschwangau Castle is another epic castle that only lies 6 minutes out of town.
