My go-to search engine for flights is Google Flights. I’ve found when comparing the various search engines, that Google Flights often has the cheapest options overall. (Some of the other search engines increase the prices and take a cut.) Google Flights also has a really easy to use and clean interface. It shows all the airlines and you can even change the settings to have it rank them by price, time, number of layovers, etc. 

I also like to use Google Flights, because you can easily check the prices of near-by cities to fly into or out of which maybe you wouldn’t have considered before. You can also check prices by region or country, if you are open to various places in a certain area.  

They also have an alert option that can notify you when prices go up or down in a certain location.

My go-to places for finding cheap hotels are Expedia.com or Hotels.com. I have found that they both have very easy-to-use interfaces, and you can easily search for hotels in a specific area. I also like their ability to sort hotels by price, location, and distance from somewhere.

Booking.com is another site that I will check out when there is nothing available in the area on Hotels.com or Expedia.com.

Priceline can also have some great last minute deals on 4 and 5 star hotels, so make sure to check them out as well now and then!

Airbnb or VRBO can also be great options when traveling, so don’t forget to check them out as well!

The short answer is that anywhere can be great to travel with kids! It all comes down to finding fun kid-friendly activities wherever you go and lowering your expectations about how much you can fit in.

For example, if you are traveling to Norway and are hoping to hike for several hours to some of Norway’s famous fjord views with toddlers – then maybe not. But if you are looking to explore a city like Oslo or Bergen, then there are fun activities for kids to do like open air folk museums or boat rides through Norway’s fjords.

Same with anywhere else in the world! The key is to lower your expectations on how much you can fit in and maybe skip the museums that would make your kids tired and antsy. 

For each country and city I have created a list of “Teddy’s Tips” to help you with ideas of what to do with your kids there!

Try to keep it slow, allow time for things you’d do in your hometown like going to a playground, keep your expectations down, and traveling with kids can be great fun!  

I recommend using an eSim when traveling abroad. I use the Airalo App, which gives you an eSim once you download it from the App Store and purchase a plan. It allows you to pick which region or country you want service in, and easily allows you to use data, send texts, and make calls via your normal phone number!  It is extremely easy to set up (they walk you through the instructions when you install the Airalo App), and it is also easy to use!

You can put as much or as little money down at a time, and refilling it is quick and easy as well.

Airalo allows you to pick a region (for example, all of Europe), or a specific country (Italy, for example), to have service in. As I travel through many countries in Europe at a time, I often get the Europe package which allows me to seamlessly transition from one country to the next. Airalo makes the transition by itself, so that you don’t have to worry about a thing when crossing between countries.

There are several different sites that show you the array of activities and tours offered in a specific city or country.

Two that I like to check out are Viator and GetYourGuide. Both of these have a variety of tours that can be either private or with a group. They also are reviewed by actual clients, so that you can get an idea of what other people thought of the experience.

I have used both of them several times, and not only  found them to be priced well, but also had wonderful experiences with them both!
