How to Get to Chamonix

It is quite easy to get to Chamonix, France! The closest airport to Chamonix is the Geneva Airport. From there you can take a train, car, or bus to Chamonix.

I’d recommend using google maps (select the public transportation option), to show you exactly which bus or train is best depending on the time of day you are traveling. Of course you can get to Chamonix via car as well.

The main train station is Chamonix Mont-Blanc, which comes into the city center.

What to Do in Chamonix

Chamonix is a beautiful town located in the French Alps with views of Mount Blanc. It has a quaint town center filled with shopping, restaurants, and a river running through the middle.

Head to the town center and enjoy the boutique shops, relax at the riverside cafes, and enjoy dinner at one of Chamonix’s amazing restaurants.

Visiting Mount Blanc is the number one thing to do while in Chamonix. The L’Aiguille du Midi cable car takes you up to the summit right next to Mount Blanc. You can also take a cable car up the opposite mountain to Le Brévent which gives you amazing views of Chamonix & Mount Blanc which is directly opposite.
