How to Get to Brussels

Brussels is the capital city of Belgium and is easily reachable via train or airplane.

The main airport is Brussels Airport (BRU), but you can easily fly into Paris Airport and take the 1.5hr train ride over to Brussels.

Brussels’ main train station is Brussel-Centraal Station, which is located right in the center of town and is only a 6 minute walk from the main square.

What to Do in Brussels

Brussels is a beautiful city to explore!

Grand Place is the main square in Brussels and is surrounded by cafes & historic buildings dating back to the 14th century, with the Brussels Town Hall at the center.

At Christmastime, there is a large Christmas tree in the center of the square and a gorgeous sound and light show projected on all the buildings. I highly recommend it!

From Grand Place, take a walk along Rue du Marché aux Herbes/Grasmarkt Straat to Rue des Fripiers/Kleerkopersstraat to Rue Neuve. These are the main pedestrian & shopping streets in Brussels.

Rue du Marche is an older street filled with chocolatiers and boutique shops, while Rue Neuve is home to larger modern storefronts such as Zara and H&M.

Interested in more shopping? Stop by Galeries Royales Saint Hubert – an ornate shopping center that offers high-end shops, theaters, and restaurants.

Visit Atomium – the large stainless steel replica of an atom and a well known Belgian landmark. There’s also a park, movie theater, and an IMAX theater there that you can enjoy.

Right nearby, visit Mini Europe! A park full of Europe’s most famous monuments all done in miniature! You can find more information and get tickets here.
