How to Get to Bergen

Bergen is located on the western coast of Norway and can be reached via airplane, train, or cruise!

The main airport is Bergen Airport/Bergen Lufthavn. From there you can take Bergen Light Rail #1 into Bergen city center. It is about a 45 minute ride into the city.

The main train station is Bergen Central Station. From Oslo, it is a 7hr train ride to Bergen, and you can even take the train overnight to save time! Click here to book your train tickets and/or your sleeper cabin.

What to Do in Bergen

Bergen is one of my absolutely favorite towns in Norway! Its idyllic waterfront and cute old town are truly magical! 

Strandgaten is the main shopping & pedestrian street in the center of Bergen. Stroll down the street and check out the stores & eateries that Bergen has to offer!

Take a walking tour around Bergen! Explore the charming streets and historic sights like St. Mary’s Church, Vågen harbor, and the Bryggen quarter – now a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Weather in Bergen

The weather here varies depending on what time of year it is and the current weather patterns.

The warm season lasts from June to September, with an average daily temperature above 58°F. The hottest month of the year in Bergen is July, with an average high of 63°F and low of 51°F.

The cold season lasts from November to March, with an average daily temperature below 42°F. The coldest month of the year in Bergen is February, with an average low of 29°F and high of 37°F.
