How to Get to Munich

Munich is located in southern Germany, and is fairly easy to get to via train or plane.

The main airport is Munich International Airport, and from there it is a 45 minute metro ride into Munich.

The main train station is München Hbf, which comes right into the middle of the city & connects to all of Munich’s underground subway systems.

What to Do in Munich

Munich is the capital of beautiful Bavaria, and one of my favorite cities in Germany! 

Marienplatz is the main square in Munich & the center for activity, festivals, and events! It is also the transport hub of the city.

The town hall, Neues Rathaus, is in Marienplatz, and is famous for its ornate clock tower – Rathaus-Glockenspiel – which features moving figurines depicting Munich history. You can also go up the tower for gorgeous views over the city!

The main shopping & pedestrian street in Munich is Kaufingerstrasse. It is filled with shops & great places to eat! 

Take a food tour, learn about Oktoberfest, taste German beer and enjoy a Bavarian dinner. This is a city highlight! Book this experience here.

Right in the city is the English Garden, a perfect place to relax in the sun, take a stroll, or even watch the river surfers at Eisbach

Asamkirche is an ornate 1700s church in the middle of town.

The city’s largest and most famous outdoor marketplace is Viktualienmarkt, and is a lot of fun to wander through!

Visit the Olympiapark München – home of the 1972 Olympics!
